Spreading warmth, one blanket at a time

News & Events

For all of April, we will be remembering Betsy by doing what she did best - spreading warmth. Betsy would have been 78 this coming April 30, so between now and then, we’d like to collect enough donations for 78 comfort packs (pillow, sheets, blanket, and comforter) and 78 air mattresses. This can be done through making a donation (link in bio), shopping our wish lists, and/or donating to one of our local blanket/bedding drives (more on this soon!).

On April 30, we will celebrate Betsy with the grand opening of our new space in Wilmette - details coming soon!

Flash back Friday…to when it all began! In Oct 2019, Haley’s kids, Jack and Adele celebrated their 6th and 8th birthdays. Instead of gifts, their friends brought new blankets and bedding to their parties and Betsy’s Blankets began! What started as a healing project following the passing of Betsy that previous July, quickly turned into so much more after we heard how needed these essential sleep items are for so many kids and families. Over 5 years later, we’re still going thanks to all of our donors and volunteers!

Betsy’s Blankets collaborates with organizations like @safefamiliesforchildren to provide new blankets and bedding to those in need. SFFC supports vulnerable children and strengthens families facing crises by offering a community of compassionate volunteers who work to keep children safe and families united. We’re honored to play a part in offering warmth and security to these children and families.

Betsy’s Blankets and The Grace Network are honored to be amongst the organizations receiving 50% of the net profits from an important film, No Address, coming out this Friday in theaters. If you can, join us this Thursday night for a special viewing at the Landmark Theater at the Glen at 7pm. A link to tickets can be found in our bio.

Inspired by true events, this compelling drama captures the journey of a group of individuals experiencing homelessness. The film is a cinematic exploration of hope, humanity, and resilience as the characters navigate the stormy challenges of life without a physical address, showcasing the reality that homelessness could happen to anyone. Let’s all do our part to #BreakTheNoAddressCycle.
